Regarding your question about the availability of the Sound Blaster Recon3D in our online store with the SBX Pro Studio technologies, please check our online store again in two weeks, since we are in the process of replenishing it at the moment: Regarding your first question, please note that although the software suite has been renamed and become completely proprietary of Creative, the hardware of the sound card is the same for both models of the product.

Thank you for writing in to Creative Technology Ltd. So I guess my question is does the Recon3D THX version now support SBX via a software or firmware update?ĭoes the Omni 5.1 actually support SBX virtual surround? Looking through Creative's website is a disaster, as it looks like they changed anything with THX to SBX and called it a day. the only Recond3D USB I can find out there is the older "THX" version not the "SBX" version that they updated it to in June 2013. It appears that the following cards have SBX surround on them:īut. It looks like SBX might be a good enough (or better) of a replacement so I start looking into that. It looks like THX virtual surround is shit so I'm going to pass on that. I really do enjoy CMSS-3D and the work it does, but apparently that has gone the way of the do-do and I can only get that from one of the following cards that I can find on eBay:

I have a 4770k processor so no VT-D -> I cannot use my X-Fi Titanium in a VM for virttual surround (correct me if I am wrong). I was looking for a USB sound card with headphone virtual surround that I could possibly use in Linux when I game in a VM (since the previous poster in my Linux audio thread was right ). I'm lost on how this is working out and I could use some help.
